Inhibition of the Bloom's and Werner's syndrome helicases by G-quadruplex interacting ligands. [PDF]
G-Quadruplex DNAs are folded, non-Watson-Crick structures that can form within guanine-rich DNA sequences such as telomeric repeats. Previous studies have identified a series of trisubstituted acridine derivatives that are potent and selective ligands ...

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Chiral metallohelices enantioselectively target hybrid human telomeric G-quadruplex DNA [PDF]
The design and synthesis of metal complexes that can specifically target DNA secondary structure has attracted considerable attention. Chiral metallosupramolecular complexes (e.g.

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.

Surface Dependent Dual Recognition of a G-quadruplex DNA With Neomycin-Intercalator Conjugates
G-quadruplexes have been characterized as structures of vital importance in the cellular functioning of several life forms. They have subsequently been established to serve as a therapeutic target of several diseases including cancer, HIV, tuberculosis ...

Principal factors that determine the extension of detection range in molecular beacon aptamer/conjugated polyelectrolyte bioassays. [PDF]
A strategy to extend the detection range of weakly-binding targets is reported that takes advantage of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET)-based bioassays based on molecular beacon aptamers (MBAs) and cationic conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs).

A Photoresponsive Supramolecular G-Quadruplex [PDF]
Photoirradiation of a hexadecameric supramolecular G-quadruplex leads to a diastereoselective [2 + 2] cyclodimerization of half of its constituent subunits, which in turn shifts the equilibrium toward the formation of a precise heteromeric octamer.

This study investigates the protective role of salubrinal against heat‐induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in mouse spermatogenic cells (GC1 and GC2). By modulating the ER stress pathway, salubrinal alleviates cellular stress and supports spermatogenic cell survival, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic candidate for heat‐related infertility.

Antiparallel RNA G-quadruplex Formed by Human Telomere RNA Containing 8-Bromoguanosine
In this study, by combining nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), circular dichroism (CD), liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS), and gel electrophoresis, we report an unusual topological structure of the RNA G ...

Effects of Central Loop Length and Metal Ions on the Thermal Stability of G-Quadruplexes
The central loop of G-quadruplex molecular beacons is a key element to sense target DNA or RNA sequences. In this study, circular dichroism spectroscopy (CD), thermal difference spectrum (TDS), non-denatured non-denaturing gel electrophoresis, and ...
