G-quadruplex is a special secondary structure of nucleic acids in guanine-rich sequences of genome. G-quadruplexes have been proved to be involved in the regulation of replication, DNA damage repair, and transcription and translation of oncogenes or ...

A new cationic porphyrin derivative (TMPipEOPP) with large side arm substituents: a highly selective G-quadruplex optical probe. [PDF]
The discovery of uncommon DNA structures and speculation about their potential functions in genes has brought attention to specific DNA structure recognition.

Mapping and characterization of G-quadruplexes in Mycobacterium tuberculosis gene promoter regions [PDF]
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the causative agent of tuberculosis (TB), one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide in 2015. The recent emergence of strains resistant to all current drugs urges the development of compounds with new mechanisms of action ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

G4mismatch: Deep neural networks to predict G-quadruplex propensity based on G4-seq data.
G-quadruplexes are non-B-DNA structures that form in the genome facilitated by Hoogsteen bonds between guanines in single or multiple strands of DNA.

Qualitative SERS analysis of G-quadruplex DNAs using selective stabilising ligands [PDF]
Nucleic acids are of key biological importance due to their range of functions and ability to form various different structures, with an example of emerging significance being quadruplexes formed by guanine-rich sequences.

Isothermal folding of G-quadruplexes [PDF]
Thermodynamic studies of G-quadruplex stability are an essential complement to structures obtained by NMR or X-ray crystallography. An understanding of the energetics of quadruplex folding provides a necessary foundation for the physical interpretation of quadruplex formation and reactivity.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Formation of G-quadruplex and Its Utilizing for an Automated Spectrometric Detection of Cisplatin
Here, we studied the formation of G-quadruplex using spectrophotometric methods (peroxidase activity of G-quadruplex) and verifications of obtained results by voltammetry (cytosine-adenine (CA) or guanine (G) peaks height).

G-quadruplex DNA motifs in the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum and their potential as novel antimalarial drug targets [PDF]
G-quadruplexes are DNA or RNA secondary structures that can be formed from guanine-rich nucleic acids. These four-stranded structures, composed of stacked quartets of guanine bases, can be highly stable and have been demonstrated to occur in vivo in the ...
