Identifying Defects in Aerospace Composite Sandwich Panels Using High-Definition Distributed Optical Fibre Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Automated methods for detecting defects within composite materials are highly desirable in the drive to increase throughput, optimise repair program effectiveness and reduce component replacement.

Self-Consistent Data Analysis of the Proton Structure Function g1 and Extraction of its Moments

open access: yes, 2004
The reanalysis of all available world data on the longitudinal asymmetry A|| is presented. The proton structure function g1 was extracted within a unique framework of data inputs and assumptions. These data allowed for a reliable evaluation of moments of

Genetic analysis of the G1 period: Isolation of mutants (or variants) with a G1 period from a Chinese hamster cell line lacking G1 [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1978
Cells of the Chinese hamster line V79-8 multiply without a G1 period (i.e., they are G1 - ) and have an average generation time of 9.5 hr. After mutagenesis and selection we have derived five stable mutants (or variants) of this line that have longer generation times.

Anchorage‐independent and faster growth in clonal population from UV‐irradiated NER‐deficient cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UV‐irradiated cells expressing a DDB2 mutant protein unable to interact with PCNA (DDB2PCNA‐) form clones able to grow without anchorage. Different experimental approaches reveal heterogeneity in cell cycle regulation and drug response within these clones, emphasizing the crucial role of the DDB2‐PCNA interaction in preventing cellular transformation ...

A G1-like globular cluster in NGC 1023

open access: yes, 2001
The structure of a very bright (MV = -10.9) globular cluster in NGC 1023 is analyzed on two sets of images taken with the Hubble Space Telescope. From careful modeling of King profile fits to the cluster image, a core radius of 0.55+/-0.1 pc, effective ...

Flexible G1 interpolation of quad meshes [PDF]

open access: yesGraphical Models, 2014
Transforming an arbitrary mesh into a smooth G1 surface has been the subject of intensive research works. To get a visual pleasing shape without any imperfection even in the presence of extraordinary mesh vertices is still a challenging problem in particular when interpolation of the mesh vertices is required.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Market Synchronicity Among African Markets: is IFRS Adoption an Augmentor or Inhibitor?

open access: yesECONOMICS
This paper investigates the dynamics of market synchronicity and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) adoption in Africa. It seeks to determine whether or not IFRS is an augmentor or inhibitor of market synchronicity in Africa.

A Framework for Current and New Data Quality Dimensions: An Overview

open access: yesData
This paper presents a comprehensive exploration of data quality terminology, revealing a significant lack of standardisation in the field. The goal of this work was to conduct a comparative analysis of data quality terminology across different domains ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...
