Diabetıc Cardiomyopathy And G Protein

open access: yesVan Tıp Dergisi, 2019
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most important disease in the modern society and represents not only a medical but also social problem. Cardiovascular disease is the primary cause of death in people with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

Tuning Butyrylcholinesterase Inactivation and Reactivation by Polymer‐Based Protein Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2020
Organophosphate nerve agents rapidly inhibit cholinesterases thereby destroying the ability to sustain life. Strong nucleophiles, such as oximes, have been used as therapeutic reactivators of cholinesterase‐organophosphate complexes, but suffer from ...

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Interaction of class A G protein-coupled receptors with G proteins.

open access: yesActa Biochimica Polonica, 2004
A model for interaction of class A G protein-coupled receptor with the G protein G(alpha) subunit is proposed using the rhodopsin-transducin (RD/Gt) prototype. The model combines the resolved interactions/distances, essential in the active RD*/Gt system, with the structure of Gt(alpha) C-terminal peptide bound to RD* while stabilizing it.

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

G Protein-Linked Signaling Pathways in Bipolar and Major Depressive Disorders

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2013
The G-protein linked signaling system (GPLS) comprises a large number of G-proteins, G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), GPCR ligands, and downstream effector molecules.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Competing G protein‐coupled receptor kinases balance G protein and β‐arrestin signaling

open access: yesMolecular Systems Biology, 2012
Seven‐transmembrane receptors (7TMRs) are involved in nearly all aspects of chemical communications and represent major drug targets. 7TMRs transmit their signals not only via heterotrimeric G proteins but also through β‐arrestins, whose recruitment to ...

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

G protein stoichiometry dictates biased agonism through distinct receptor-G protein partitioning

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Biased agonism at G protein coupled receptors emerges as an opportunity for development of drugs with enhanced benefit/risk balance making biased ligand identification a priority.
