In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

GGE biplot and AMMI model to evaluate spine gourd (Momordica dioica Roxb.) for genotype × environment interactionand seasonal adaptation

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2019
A investigation was carried out to ascertain the GEI, the yield stability and adaptability of 12 advanced spine gourd genotypes (G) in one environments over three crop years (2013, 2014 and 2015).

The effect of genotype (G), growing environment (E), and their interaction (G x E) on the chemical composition of wheat bran [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Wheat bran is a rich source of dietary fibres, some of essential fatty acids and contains important quantities of starch, protein, vitamins, minerals and phytic acid. It is also well known for its powerful anticarcinogenic and antioxidant properties. Field experiments with a collection of 23 wheat genotypes were conducted during two growing seasons in ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Genotype x environment interaction studies in promising early genotypes of rice [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2015
Twenty one early rice genotypes including four local check varieties (Gurjari, GR-3, GR-7 and GR-12) were evaluated for their stability parameters with respect to eighteen quantitative and qualitative traits in 3 environments (Nawagam, Dabhoi and Dahod ...

Electronic structure and magnetism in doped semiconducting half-Heusler compounds

open access: yes, 2005
We have studied in details the electronic structure and magnetism in M (Mn and Cr) doped semiconducting half-Heusler compounds FeVSb, CoTiSb and NiTiSn (XM$_{x}$Y$_{1-x}$Z) in a wide concentration range using local-spin density functional method in the ...

The influence of strong magnetic fields and instantons on the phase structure of the two-flavor NJL model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Both in heavy-ion collisions as in magnetars very strong magnetic fields are produced, which has its influence on the phases of matter involved. In this paper we investigate the effect of strong magnetic fields (B = 5 m_pi^2 /e = 1.7 x 10^19 G) on the ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Effects of heat shock on resistance to parasitoids and on life history traits in an aphid/endosymbiont system. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Temperature variation is an important factor determining the outcomes of interspecific interactions, including those involving hosts and parasites. This can apply to variation in average temperature or to relatively short but intense bouts of extreme ...
