The Journal of Immunology, 1977Abstract Antibodies with specificity for β1,6 linked D-galactoses were induced in mice by immunization with gum ghatti. Idiotypic antisera were prepared in rabbits and mice by immunization with 8 BALB/c IgA(k), β1,6D-galactan binding myeloma proteins (β6GALBMP).

Characterization of idiotypes on antibodies to galactan
Annales de l'Institut Pasteur / Immunologie, 1984The correlation between the primary structure and the expression of idiotypy in the anti-galactan antibody system is extremely precise. Amino-acid residues, which are implicated in the expression of recurrent or private idiotopes, are localized in the CDR3 region of all hybridomas and of at least 2 out of 4 myeloma proteins.

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2000Research on the chemical structure and physiological activity of galactan and galactan-containing polysaccharides of higher plants is reviewed. The principal chain in galactan-containing polysaccharides consists of 1–3, 1–4, 1–6, and α- and β-bonded D-galactopyranoses.
