Procuring biologically active galactomannans from spent coffee ground (SCG) by autohydrolysis and enzymatic hydrolysis.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2020
Spent coffee grounds (SCG) are a promising raw material for galactomannan (GalM) production based upon its enrichment in galactomannan polysaccharides. In this work, SCG was pretreated by autohydrolysis for maximumly improving GalM extractability by endo-

Seed Galactomannans: An Overview

Chemistry & Biodiversity, 2005
AbstractSeed galactomannans are vegetable, heterogeneous polysaccharides widely distributed in nature. Generally, they possess (1→4)‐linked D‐mannopyranose (Man) main chains to which are attached (1→6)‐linked D‐galactopyranosyl (Gal) units. The Man/Gal ratios differ from gum to gum, resulting in a change in structure, which, in turn, determines the ...

Isolation, structural characterization, and biological activities of galactomannans from Rhizopogon luteolus and Ganoderma adspersum mushrooms.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2020
Polysaccharides are essential compounds that contribute to the biological activities of mushrooms. Two new galactomannans (Galactomannan I and II) were isolated from R. luteolus and G. adspersum.

Synthesis of galactomannan sulfates

Applied Biochemistry and Microbiology, 2006
The experimental conditions for the sulfation of legume galactomannans were found, which allow for the obtainment of polysaccharides with a high degree of substitution. Sulfate esters of four galactomannans of different composition (galactose content, 16.4-47.5%) were synthesized using the SO3-pyridine complex in dimethylformamide as a sulfating agent.

Microstructural and rheological characterization of NaCl-induced gels of soy protein isolate and the effects of incorporating different galactomannans

, 2020
This study aimed to evaluate the properties of NaCl-induced gels of soy protein isolate (SPI) in the presence and absence of different galactomannans (locust bean gum - LBG and guar gum – GG) at pH 7.

Interaction of guar gum galactomannans with the anionic surfactant sodium lauryl ether sulphate.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2020
The interaction between galactomannans, guar gum (GG) with sodium lauryl ether sulphate (SLES) was demonstrated using conductometric, tensiometric, pyrene probe and 1H NMR analyses.

Comparative study on the monosaccharides of three typical galactomannans hydrolyzed by different methods

, 2020
The factors affecting the hydrolysis of galactomannans, Gleditsia Sinensis gum, guar gum, and fenugreek gum, have been compared and optimized with three different methods. The obtaining of galactose and mannose in the galactomannans were determined using

Characterization of Galactomannans Extracted From Seeds of Gleditsia triacanthos and Sophora japonica Through Shear and Extensional Rheology: Comparison With Guar Gum and Locust Bean Gum [PDF]

open access: yesFood Hydrocolloids, 2010
The rheological behaviour, under steady and dynamic shear and extensional conditions, of two nonconventional galactomannans isolated from Gleditsia triacanthos and Sophora japonica is determined and compared to those of locust bean gum and guar gum ...
