Local Growth Hormone Facilitates Aging of the Colon Epithelial Microenvironment

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Local growth hormone (GH) is expressed and secreted by senescent cells in the aging human colon. GH triggers epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition and activates colon cell motility by regulating extracellular matrix proteins, inducing cytoskeleton rearrangement and altering cell motility protein phosphorylation.

TSP50 in Neural Stem Cells Regulates Aging‐Related Cognitive Decline and Neuroinflammation by Altering the Gut Microbiota

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
TSP50 expression declines in the hippocampus of aged humans and mice. TSP50 deficiency in NSCs accelerates mouse aging, causing cognitive impairments and neuroinflammation. Restoring gut microbiota via FMT and TSP50 overexpression alleviates these phenotypes. Our study shows TSP50's critical role in aging and gut microbiota as a key mediator.

The physiological and pathological effects of sphingolipid metabolism and signaling in the central nervous system

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Sphingolipids are vital components of cell membranes. Metabolic disruptions of sphingolipids, including ceramide and sphingosine‐1‐phosphate, are linked to neurological disorders. This article summarizes the classification, structure, and metabolic processes of sphingolipids, and the physiological and pathological effects of sphingolipid metabolism and

PRRX2 Regulates GLI2 to Promote Proliferation, Invasion, and Metastasis by Inhibiting Senescence via Hedgehog Signaling

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
PRRX2 is highly expressed in pancreatic cancer and correlates with patient prognosis. PRRX2 promotes pancreatic cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis, and inhibits pancreatic cancer cell senescence. PRRX2 transcriptionally regulates GLI2 and activates the Hedgehog pathway.
