Effect of low-mass galaxy interactions on their star formation

open access: yes, 2023
According to the Λ cold dark matter model of galaxy formation, the hierarchical assembly process is scale-free and interactions between galaxies in all mass ranges are expected.

Measurement of anti-3He nuclei absorption in matter and impact on their propagation in the Galaxy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
In our Galaxy, light antinuclei composed of antiprotons and antineutrons can be produced through high-energy cosmic-ray collisions with the interstellar medium or could also originate from the annihilation of dark-matter particles that have not yet been ...

SDSS-IV MaNGA: Unveiling Galaxy Interaction by Merger Stages with Machine Learning

open access: yes, 2023
We use machine-learning techniques to classify galaxy merger stages, which can unveil physical processes that drive the star formation and active galactic nucleus (AGN) activities during galaxy interaction.

Bar-spheroid interaction in galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1992
The secular evolution of barred galaxies is explored using N-body simulation and linear analysis. In particular, we examine the interaction between bars and spheroidal components of galaxies. According to our calculations, this interaction drives secular transfer of angular momentum from bars to spheroids, primarily through resonant coupling.

Prevalence of galaxy-galaxy interactions in AGN hosts

open access: yes, 2011
[[abstract]]Studies in optical starlight have failed to reach a consensus on the importance of either galaxy interactions, bars, or nuclear spirals in triggering luminous active galactic nuclei (AGNs).

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Radio Diagnostics Of Galaxy Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1999
The Hickson Compact Groups (Hickson 1982) are relatively isolated systems of galaxies with projected separations comparable to the diameters of the galaxies themselves and are an ideal laboratory for the study of the effects of interactions on the various properties of galaxies.
