Probing the Physics of Interacting Galaxies
Both Arp 140 and Arp 104 reveal extended tidal tails in the HI. The Halpha and FIR fluxes of Arp 140 yield similar SFR of ~0.8 solar masses per year. In contrast the Halpha flux of Arp 104 yields a SFR of ~0.05 solar masses per year, ~ 20 times smaller than that obtained from the FIR flux.

Statistical Inconsistencies in the KiDS-450 Dataset [PDF]
The Kilo-Degree Survey (KiDS) has been used in several recent papers to infer constraints on the amplitude of the matter power spectrum and matter density at low redshift. Some of these analyses have claimed tension with the Planck $\Lambda \mathrm{CDM}$

Targeted decrease of portal hepatic pressure gradient improves ascites control after TIPS
The river diagram demonstrates that after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt insertion (TIPS) the majority of patients without ascites and 50% of the patients with ascites detectable at ultrasound, show the best response in the long term follow‐up.

Can simulations reproduce the observed temperature-mass relation for clusters of galaxies? [PDF]
It has become increasingly apparent that traditional hydrodynamical simulations of galaxy clusters are unable to reproduce the observed properties of galaxy clusters, in particular overpredicting the mass corresponding to a given cluster temperature ...

Physical Morphology of Galaxies using Asymmetry [PDF]
We demonstrate in this paper the use of asymmetry in conjunction with the integrated (B-V) color of galaxies for physical morphological purposes. We show how color-asymmetry diagrams can be used to distinguish between various types of galaxies, including ellipticals, late and early type disks, irregulars and interacting/merging galaxies.

Physical Properties and Environments of Nearby Galaxies [PDF]
We review the physical properties of nearby, relatively luminous galaxies, using results from newly available massive data sets together with more detailed observations. First, we present the global distribution of properties, including the optical and ultraviolet (UV) luminosity, stellar mass, and atomic gas mass functions.
