Cardiorespiratory fitness and the association with galectin-1 in middle-aged individuals.
Galectin-1 plays a functional role in human metabolism and the levels are altered in obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D). This study investigates the association of cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) with galectin-1 and the interconnection with body fatness ...

Data_Sheet_1_The Tim-3-Galectin-9 Pathway and Its Regulatory Mechanisms in Human Breast Cancer.docx
Human cancer cells operate a variety of effective molecular and signaling mechanisms which allow them to escape host immune surveillance and thus progress the disease.

CD38 regulates chronic lymphocytic leukemia proliferation via CD45 phosphatase activity
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) growth is dependent on both B cell receptor (BCR) signaling and signals from microenvironmental T helper (Th) cells.

The Role of Galectin-3 in Th17 Differentiation

EV71 viruses propagated from galectin-1 silenced cells do not carry galectin-1.
(A) Galectin-1 is silenced by lentiviral vector-based shRNA. SK-N-SH cells were infected with lentiviruses encoding a galectin-1 shRNA for 48 h. The silencing of galectin-1 in SK-N-SH cells was determined by Western blotting.

The Evaluation of Glyceryl C3‐Azolyl‐Thiogalactosides as Galectin‐1 and Galectin‐3 Ligands
AbstractGalectins are a family of galactoside‐binding proteins involved in various pathophysiological processes, which makes them attractive targets for drug discovery. The derivatization of d‐galactose at C3 and C1 positions has been shown to increase the affinity of synthetic galectin antagonists.

Galectin 7 leads to a relative reduction in CD4+ T cells, mediated by PD-1
The role of glycan-binding proteins as an activator of immune regulatory receptors has gained attention recently. We report that galectin 7 reduced CD4+ T cell percentage in both in vitro culture and mouse tumor models.
