Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) potently inhibit T cells, a process that could help the liver to maintain its immunoprivileged status. HSCs secrete latent TGFβ1, but the detailed mechanisms by which latent TGFβ1 is activated and whether it plays any role

Yeast dynamin associates with the GARP tethering complex for endosome-to-Golgi traffic.
Yeast dynamin, Vacuolar Protein Sorting 1 (Vps1), has been implicated in recycling traffic from the endosome to the trans-Golgi network (TGN). Previous research showed a genetic interaction of Vps1 with all components of the GARP tethering complex, which anchors vesicles at the late Golgi membrane.

Characterization of the human GARP (Golgi associated retrograde protein) complex
Experimental Cell Research, 2005The Golgi associated retrograde protein complex (GARP) or Vps fifty-three (VFT) complex is part of cellular inter-compartmental transport systems. Here we report the identification of the VFT tethering factor complex and its interactions in mammalian cells.
