Integrating Radiomics and Computational Pathology to Predict Early Recurrence of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma and Uncover Its Biological Basis in Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Accurate prediction of early recurrence in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is vital for optimizing treatment. A novel, integrated radiomics‐pathology machine learning model successfully forecasts recurrence risks by analyzing preoperative CT images and computational pathology.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST)

open access: yesCurrent Treatment Options in Gastroenterology, 2006
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), the most common nonepithelial neoplasms of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, occur most commonly in the stomach. These neoplasms were previously classified as smooth muscle tumors, but it has become apparent that they represent distinct clinicopathologic entities.

Cytoreduction and HIPEC in the treatment of "unconventional" secondary peritoneal carcinomatosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
BACKGROUND: Peritoneal metastasis (PM) is considered a terminal and incurable disease. In the last 30 years, cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) radically changed the therapeutic approach for these patients ...

From Cell‐Free Transcriptomes to Single‐Cell Landscapes: Biomarker Discovery and Originating Cell Alteration Analysis via Graph Matrix Factorization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CellFreeGMF traces plasma cfRNA to likely originating cell types by integrating single‐cell atlases with graph‐regularized matrix factorization. The method decomposes cfRNA profiles into sample–cell contributions to reconstruct pseudo single‐cell expression.

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.

Short Distal Resection Margin Does Not Increase Recurrence Risk After R0 Resection for Rectal Neuroendocrine Tumors: A Single‐Institution Retrospective Study of 208 Patients

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study evaluated the impact of distal resection margin (DRM) length on recurrence in 208 patients undergoing surgery for rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Our findings demonstrate that while oncological safety must unquestionably remain the top priority, a short pathological DRM (< 10 mm) does not increase recurrence risk when R0 resection is ...

En bloc corpectomy for late gastrointestinal stromal tumor metastasis: a case report and review of the literature

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2018
Background Spinal metastases of gastrointestinal stromal tumors are rare; however, the incidence has been increasing since the introduction of tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which have improved overall survival.
