GBF1- and ACBD3-Independent Recruitment of PI4KIIIβ to Replication Sites by Rhinovirus 3A Proteins [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2015
ABSTRACT PI4KIIIβ recruitment to Golgi membranes relies on GBF1/Arf and ACBD3. Enteroviruses such as poliovirus and coxsackievirus recruit PI4KIIIβ to their replication sites via their 3A proteins. Here, we show that human rhinovirus (HRV) 3A also recruited PI4KIIIβ to replication sites.

A membrane fusion protein αSNAP is a novel regulator of epithelial apical junctions. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Tight junctions (TJs) and adherens junctions (AJs) are key determinants of the structure and permeability of epithelial barriers. Although exocytic delivery to the cell surface is crucial for junctional assembly, little is known about the mechanisms ...

STING-dependent recognition of cyclic di-AMP mediates type I interferon responses during Chlamydia trachomatis infection. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
UnlabelledSTING (stimulator of interferon [IFN] genes) initiates type I IFN responses in mammalian cells through the detection of microbial nucleic acids. The membrane-bound obligate intracellular bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis induces a STING-dependent

Hermansky‐Pudlak Syndrome: From Molecular Pathogenesis to Targeted Therapies

open access: yesIUBMB Life, Volume 77, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Hermansky‐Pudlak syndrome (HPS) is a rare inherited disorder caused by defects in lysosome‐related organelles (LROs) in various tissues, including platelets, melanocytes, and endothelial cells. Key features of HPS include oculocutaneous albinism, bleeding tendency, and, in some cases, pulmonary fibrosis, granulomatous colitis, and ...

Charakterisierung des Guaninnukleotid-Austauschfaktors GBF1

open access: yes, 2009

SNARE VTI13 plays a unique role in endosomal trafficking pathways associated with the vacuole and is essential for cell wall organization and root hair growth in arabidopsis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background and Aims: Root hairs are responsible for water and nutrient uptake from the soil and their growth is responsive to biotic and abiotic changes in their environment.

Genomic Prediction and Genome‐Wide Association Studies for Productivity, Conformation and Heat Tolerance Traits in Tropical Smallholder Dairy Cows

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Volume 142, Issue 3, Page 322-341, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Genomic selection (GS) and genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) have not been investigated in Vietnamese dairy cattle, even for basic milk production traits, largely due to the scarcity of individual phenotype recording in smallholder dairy farms (SDFs).

Poliovirus replication requires the N-terminus but not the catalytic Sec7 domain of ArfGEF GBF1 [PDF]

open access: yesCellular Microbiology, 2010
Viruses are intracellular parasites whose reproduction relies on factors provided by the host. The cellular protein GBF1 is critical for poliovirus replication. Here we show that the contribution of GBF1 to virus replication is different from its known activities in uninfected cells.

Curcumin inhibits the replication of enterovirus 71 in vitro

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica Sinica B, 2014
Human enterovirus 71 (EV71) is the main causative pathogen of hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) in children. The epidemic of HFMD has been a public health problem in Asia-Pacific region for decades, and no vaccine and effective antiviral medicine are ...

TNF‐α‐Driven Changes in Polarized EGF Receptor Trafficking Facilitate Phosphatidylinositol 3‐Kinase/Protein Kinase B Signaling From the Apical Surface of MDCK Epithelial Cells

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 26, Issue 4-6, April‐June 2025.
Epithelial‐immune cell crosstalk is tightly regulated by secretion of immune cell mediators into luminal and serosal fluid spaces of epithelial tissues. We report two major new findings regarding how the inflammatory cytokine TNF‐α modifies epithelial cell function without impacting barrier function.
