The expression of B7-H3 isoforms in newly diagnosed glioblastoma and recurrence and their functional role

open access: yesActa Neuropathologica Communications, 2021
Short survival of glioblastoma (GBM) patients is due to systematic tumor recurrence. Our laboratory identified a GBM cell subpopulation able to leave the tumor mass (TM) and invade the subventricular zone (SVZ-GBM cells).

FERMI GBM OBSERVATIONS OF LIGO GRAVITATIONAL-WAVE EVENT GW150914 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
With an instantaneous view of 70% of the sky, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) is an excellent partner in the search for electromagnetic counterparts to gravitational-wave (GW) events.

A Mussel‐Inspired Bioadhesive Patch to Selectively Kill Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An innovative mussel‐inspired bioadhesive patch has been developed for post‐surgical glioblastoma treatment. The patch, which adheres strongly in biological environments, releases a localized treatment. This treatment, acting via reactive oxygen species, shows specific toxicity to glioblastoma cells.

PM10 Impairs CD56dim NK Cell Cytotoxicity via FNBP1 Suppression to Exacerbate Rheumatoid Arthritis: Insights from Multimodal Multi‐Omics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study, through multi‐omics approaches and animal models, revealed that air pollutant PM10 exacerbates the progression of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by suppressing FNBP1 expression and impairing the cytotoxic function of CD56dim NK cells. The “PM10–FNBP1–NK cells” axis provided novel insights into the environmental pathogenesis of RA and suggested ...

pH/ROS‐Responsive Injectable Hydrogel Co‐Loaded with B7‐H3 Blocker and NETs Suppressor Boosts OSCC Synergistic Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pH/ROS‐dual‐responsive injectable hydrogel, formed by dynamic boronic ester and Schiff base crosslinking, co‐delivers enoblituzumab (B7‐H3 blocker) and Cl‐amidine (NETs suppressor). Via localized intratumoral delivery, it synergistically reprograms the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, overcomes T cell infiltration barriers, restores ...

Targeted Molecular Therapy of GBM

open access: yesBrain Pathology, 2003
Major advances in molecular biology, cellular biology and genomics have substantially improved our understanding of cancer. Now, these advances are being translated into therapy. Targeted therapy directed at specific molecular alterations is already creating a shift in the treatment of cancer patients.

Using Light for Therapy of Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM)

open access: yesBrain Science, 2020
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most malignant form of primary brain tumour with extremely poor prognosis. The current standard of care for newly diagnosed GBM includes maximal surgical resection followed by radiotherapy and adjuvant chemotherapy ...

β‐Adrenergic Signaling Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity in TP53‐mutant Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
β‐adrenergic stimulation enhances anti‐tumor immunity in TP53‐deficient oral squamous cell carcinoma by inducing tumor‐derived secretion of CXCL10, which attracts and activates cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. The findings demonstrate that β‐adrenergic signaling alters tumor–immune interactions via CXCL10‐mediated paracrine activation, revealing a neuro‐immune ...

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

miR-18a promotes glioblastoma development by down-regulating ALOXE3-mediated ferroptotic and anti-migration activities

open access: yesOncogenesis, 2021
The development of glioblastoma (GBM) is typically accompanied by marked changes in lipid metabolism. Oxylipins and their catalyzed enzymes lipoxygenases (LOXs) have been shown to participate in the development of cancers via multiple pathways, while the
