Mimotopes of the disialoganglioside GD2 elicit anti-GD2 antibodies recognising GD2 on melanoma cells
Journal of Clinical Oncology, 200612505 Background: The disialoganglioside GD2, a carbohydrate antigen, is expressed on all tumors of neuroectodermal origin, including melanoma, sarcoma, neuroblastoma and small cell lung cancer. Due to its specific expression on tumor surfaces, GD2 is an attractive target for immunotherapy.

Neuroblastoma, a malignant neoplasm of the sympathetic nervous system, is one of the most aggressive pediatric cancers. Patients with stage IV high-risk neuroblastoma receive an intensive multimodal therapy ending with an immunotherapy based on a chimeric monoclonal antibody ch14.18.

Gd2: The highest spin diatomic molecule?
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1994Ferromagnetic exchange coupling between the 4f7 inner shells in the Gd2 molecule leads to a 19Σ ground state. Electron-spin-resonance evidence is presented. Analogies to other exchange-coupled diatomics and to larger Gd clusters are considered.

Model for ferroelectric Gd2(MoO4)3
Solid State Communications, 1970Abstract Based on recent X-ray data, it is suggested that the phase transition in Gd 2 (MoO 4 ) 3 is a structural transition driven by a soft q ≠ 0 mode. A tentative model to account for the elastic and ferroelectric properties is presented.

Domain switching in Gd2(MoO4)3
Physics Letters A, 1969Abstract Domain switching in Gd 2 (MoO 4 ) 3 was found to be of a completely new type in a temperature 20°C∼80°C. Polarization reversal proceeds in the form of a single domain wall motion with the mobility 2 × 10 −2 cm 2 /V-sec, which is independent of temperature.
