Receptor‐Targeted Niosomal Nanocarriers: Advances, Challenges, and Opportunities in Natural Compound Delivery for Cancer Therapy

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Surface‐modified niosomes are introduced as multifunctional nanoparticles for precision tumor treatment that combine hydrophilic and lipophilic drug encapsulation with ligand‐based targeting via antibodies, peptides, transferrin, and folic acid. This modification leads to increased tumor selectivity, facilitates cell entry, and enables enhanced ...

RNF25 promotes gefitinib resistance in EGFR-mutant NSCLC cells by inducing NF-κB-mediated ERK reactivation

open access: yes, 2018
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with EGFR mutations initially respond well to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) but eventually exhibit acquired or innate resistance to the therapies typically due to gene mutations, such as EGFR T790M ...

Genotype‐directed therapy for non–small cell lung cancer diagnosed during pregnancy: A pooled analysis of seven cases from the Cancer and Pregnancy Registry with maternal and neonatal outcomes and review of the literature

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 10, Page 2089-2096, October 2026.
In this retrospective case series from a single database of pregnant women with cancer, seven were diagnosed with non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Chemotherapy and in some cases also biomarker‐directed therapy during pregnancy were associated with disease control allowing delivery closer to term and resulting in improved maternal outcomes compared ...

Abstract 625: Transcription factor slug conferring resistance To EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor gefitinib

open access: yes, 2010
Purpose: Somatic EGFR mutations of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are reported to be associated with clinical responsiveness to tyrosine kinase inhibitor gefitinib. Despite the dramatic responses to gefitinib, most patients ultimately have a relapse.

Separase Inhibition Enhances Gefitinib Sensitivity of Lung Cancer via PTBP1/TAK1/RIPK1‐Mediated PANoptosis

open access: yesMedComm
Gefitinib is the most frequently employed anti‐lung cancer drug, but its clinical effectiveness is often compromised due to the development of drug resistance.

Polyphyllin VII increases sensitivity to gefitinib by modulating the elevation of P21 in acquired gefitinib resistant non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2017
Blockade of EGFR with reversible EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) is considered the frontline strategy for advanced NSCLC with EGFR mutations. However, acquired resistance to EGFR-TKI has been observed, resulting in disease progression and limited ...

From Real World Data to Real Impact: A Co‐Medication Framework for Lung Cancer to Advance DDI Assessment and Patient‐Centric Drug Development

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Lung cancer predominantly affects older adults who already experience comorbidities and are at increased risk of drug–drug interactions (DDIs) due to polypharmacy. Traditional DDI assessments often do not fully capture complex co‐medication patterns observed in real‐world practice due to the risk of introducing confounding factors.

HDAC6 promotes cell proliferation and confers resistance to gefitinib in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesOncology Reports, 2016
Histone deacetylases (HDACs) are promising targets for cancer therapy, and first-generation HDAC inhibitors are currently in clinical trials for the treatment of cancer patients. HDAC6, which is a key regulator of many signaling pathways that are linked to cancer, has recently emerged as an attractive target for the treatment of cancer.

(S)‐Pyrrolo[1,2‐a]pyrazine‐3‐carboxamide Analogs as Dual Akt/JNK Modulators With Antiproliferative Effects in MDA‐MB‐468 Cells

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 17, 14 September 2026.
Among 30 synthesized pyrrolo[1,2‐a]pyrazine analogs, compounds B1 and B3 showed strong and selective cytotoxicity toward TNBC cells, inducing apoptosis through Akt suppression and JNK activation. Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains a major clinical challenge due to the absence of effective targeted therapies.

Skin Manifestations of Gefitinib and the Association with Survival of Advanced Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer in Taiwan

open access: yes, 2012
Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor antagonists, such as gefitinib, erlotinib, and cetuximab, have been used in treating carcinomas . The efficacies have been proposed to correlate with skin reactions, but the most important predictive indicator
