Allelic based gene-gene interactions in rheumatoid arthritis [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Proceedings, 2009
The detection of gene-gene interaction is an important approach to understand the etiology of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The goal of this study is to identify gene-gene interaction of SNPs at the allelic level contributing to RA using real data sets (Problem 1) of North American Rheumatoid Arthritis Consortium (NARAC) provided by Genetic Analysis ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Study of Gene-Gene Interaction Networks

open access: yesJournal of Nature, Science & Technology, 2021
Gene-Gene Interactions (GGI) Networks-Genomics essentially finds the driver node to understand the functional mechanism of Gene-Gene Interaction or GGI. This process can significantly improvise while examining molecular processes perturbed by genetics in human diseases.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Omnibus testing approach for gene‐based gene‐gene interaction

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, 2022
AbstractGenetic interaction is considered as one of the main heritable component of complex traits. With the emergence of genome‐wide association studies (GWAS), a collection of statistical methods dedicated to the identification of interaction at the SNP level have been proposed.

Cellular deconvolution of GTEx tissues powers discovery of disease and cell-type associated regulatory variants. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) resource has provided insights into the regulatory impact of genetic variation on gene expression across human tissues; however, thus far has not considered how variation acts at the resolution of the different cell ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
