Generation and characterization of expressed sequence tags in young roots of tea (Camellia assamica)

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2016
Assam tea (Camellia assamica) is perennial crop susceptible to moisture stress. We used its tender roots to construct a cDNA library for the identification, functional annotation, and analysis of transcripts. A total of 811 full-length expressed sequence

Screening of cis-acting elements for maintaining pluripotency of human embryonic stem cells [PDF]

open access: yesJichu yixue yu linchuang, 2021
Objective To establish an inducible CRISPR library screening method for human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) to screen the cis-acting elements involed in the maintainance the pluripotency of hESCs.

An enhanced CRISPR repressor for targeted mammalian gene regulation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The RNA-guided endonuclease Cas9 can be converted into a programmable transcriptional repressor, but inefficiencies in target-gene silencing have limited its utility.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Similar diversity of Alphaproteobacteria and nitrogenase gene amplicons on two related Sphagnum mosses

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2012
Sphagnum mosses represent a main component in ombrotrophic wetlands. They harbor a specific and diverse microbial community with essential functions for the host. To understand extend and degree of host specificity, Sphagnum fallax and S.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Diversity of aromatic hydroxylating dioxygenase genes in mangrove microbiome and their biogeographic patterns across global sites

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, 2017
Aromatic hydrocarbons (AH), such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, are compounds largely found in nature. Aromatic‐ring‐hydroxylating dioxygenases (ARHD) are proteins involved in AH degradation pathways.

Transposase-assisted tagmentation of RNA/DNA hybrid duplexes

open access: yeseLife, 2020
Tn5-mediated transposition of double-strand DNA has been widely utilized in various high-throughput sequencing applications. Here, we report that the Tn5 transposase is also capable of direct tagmentation of RNA/DNA hybrids in vitro.

Cloning and characterisation of two subtilisin-like protease genes from Neotyphodium lolii : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Molecular Genetics at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
PCR amplification of Neotyphodium lolii genomic DNA with degenerate primers detected two different sequences with homology to subtilisin-like proteases. These two PCR products were used to screen a N. lolii Lp19 genomic library.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
