Key Factors for Improving Predictive Accuracy and Avoiding Overparameterization of the PBPK Absorption Model in Food Effect Studies of Weakly Basic Water-Insoluble Compounds in Immediate Release Formulations

open access: yesPharmaceutics
Background/Objectives: Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) absorption models are instrumental for assessing drug absorption prior to clinical food effect studies, though discrepancies in predictive and actual outcomes are observed.

Ergodic theory of generic continuous maps

open access: yes, 2012
We study the ergodic properties of generic continuous dynamical systems on compact manifolds. As a main result we prove that generic homeomorphisms have convergent Birkhoff averages under continuous observables at Lebesgue almost every point. In spite of

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Structuration sémantique du lexique verbal en français langue étrangère chez des apprenants polonais

open access: yesCorela, 2015
Our study deals with verbal acquisition in the acquisition of French as a foreign language. We observe that, when acquiring the verbal lexicon of a foreign language, learners use a large number of generic verbs such as to cut, to do, to break.

Long-term outcomes of innovator versus generic melphalan formulation in autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation for multiple myeloma

open access: yesHematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Therapy, 2021
Background: Most data on autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation (auto-HCT) in myeloma are based on the use of innovator formulation of melphalan. Comparative bioequivalence and efficacy studies of generic melphalan are lacking.

Physician Referral Patterns to Physical Therapists for Managing Knee Osteoarthritis: A Retrospective Analysis of Electronic Health Records From an Integrated Health System

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective This study aims to describe the frequency and timing of physician referrals to physical therapists (PTs) and other treatments prescribed over 12 months in patients with recent onset of knee osteoarthritis (KOA). The study also aims to identify determinants of early PT referrals.

Integration over a generic algebra [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
In this paper we consider the problem of quantizing theories defined over configuration spaces described by non-commuting parameters. If one tries to do that by generalizing the path-integral formalism, the first problem one has to deal with is the ...

Testing a Personalized Approach to Chronic Low Back Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial in Older Veterans

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to test the efficacy of personalized treatment of older veterans with chronic low back pain (CLBP) delivered by Aging Back Clinics (ABCs) as compared with usual care (UC). Methods Two hundred ninety‐nine veterans aged 65 to 89 with CLBP from three Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers underwent baseline testing, randomization to ABC ...

Generic principles of active transport

open access: yes, 2006
Nonequilibrium collective motion is ubiquitous in nature and often results in a rich collection of intringuing phenomena, such as the formation of shocks or patterns, subdiffusive kinetics, traffic jams, and nonequilibrium phase transitions.

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...
