Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Farmers' social identity and crop genetic diversity. The G x E x S model [PDF]
A better knowledge of factors organizing crop genetic diversity in situ increases the efficiency of diversity analyses and conservation strategies, and requires collaboration between social and biological disciplines.

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Genealogical Distance as a Diversity Estimate in Evolutionary Algorithms
The evolutionary edit distance between two individuals in a population, i.e., the amount of applications of any genetic operator it would take the evolutionary process to generate one individual starting from the other, seems like a promising estimate ...

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Spatio-temporal Functional Regression on Paleo-ecological Data [PDF]
The influence of climate on biodiversity is an important ecological question. Various theories try to link climate change to allelic richness and therefore to predict the impact of global warming on genetic diversity.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
