Análisis de la variabilidad genética de la colección colombiana de musáceas usando marcadores isoenzimáticos Analysis of the genetic variability of colombian collection of Musaceae using isozyme markers

open access: yesActa Agronómica, 2011
La Colección Colombiana de Musáceas (CCM) es la única a nivel mundial que representa un alto valor por ser la que posee introducciones andinas de altura (> 1500 m.s.n.m.).

Genotyping by Amplicon Sequencing (GBAS) With Newly Developed SSR and EPIC Markers Reveals Structure in Populations of the Green Toad (Bufotes viridis) Across Rural and Urban Environments

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Microsatellites (SSRs) are reliable markers for population genetic analyses but often suffer from null alleles caused by mutations in primer binding sites.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Populational genetic structure of free-living maned wolves (Chrysocyon brachyurus) determined by proteic markers

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
Electrophoretic analysis of presumptive twenty gene loci products was conducted in hemolisates and plasma samples of twenty-eight maned wolves (Chrysocyon brachyurus) from an area in northeastern São Paulo State, Brazil. The area sampled was divided into

A Genetic Linkage Map Using an F1 Population in Rubber Tree (Hevea brasiliensis) based on microsatellite markers. P0527 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The construction of molecular gene linkage map in Hevea requires specific methodology because of high heterozygosity. Unlike annual crops, a cross between two heterozygous parents in Hevea can yield information up to four alleles, which are segregated ...

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.
