The Population Genetics of Fungi: Tools and Techniques [PDF]
Over the last 10 years plant pathologists have begun to realize that more knowledge about the genetic structure of populations of plant pathogens is needed to implement effective control strategies (48). Research on the genetic structure of fungal populations has mushroomed, and review papers that summarize these studies are numerous (7,27,33,34,38 ...

B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Thirty years of cutaneous leishmaniasis in Tadla-Azilal focus, Morocco
Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) due to Leishmania tropica is a major health problem in Tadla-Azilal focus, Morocco, where the first case was registered, here, in one locality named Tanant in 1987. So far, CL remains endemic and largely widespread.

Genetic Representations for Evolutionary Minimization of Network Coding Resources
We demonstrate how a genetic algorithm solves the problem of minimizing the resources used for network coding, subject to a throughput constraint, in a multicast scenario.

Highly efficient Localisation utilising Weightless neural systems [PDF]
Efficient localisation is a highly desirable property for an autonomous navigation system. Weightless neural networks offer a real-time approach to robotics applications by reducing hardware and software requirements for pattern recognition techniques ...

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

When Darwin Met Einstein: Gravitational Lens Inversion with Genetic Algorithms
Gravitational lensing can magnify a distant source, revealing structural detail which is normally unresolvable. Recovering this detail through an inversion of the influence of gravitational lensing, however, requires optimisation of not only lens ...

Breast cancer metastasis is associated with myeloid cell dysregulation and the lung‐specific accumulation of tumor‐supportive Gr1+ cells. Gr1+ cells support metastasis, in part, through a CHI3L1‐mediated mechanism, which can be targeted and inhibited with cargo‐free, polymeric nanoparticles.
