A Novel Perfused Full‐Thickness Human Skin Microphysiological System for Modeling Injury, Regeneration, Tumor Pathophysiology, and Therapeutics Development

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
What if human skin could remain fully alive and functional outside the body for weeks? A New Alternative Method (NAM) based on a vascularized full‐thickness skin microphysiological system achieves precisely this, preserving native vasculature, resident immunity, and metabolic activity for up to three weeks, while faithfully recapitulating radiation ...

Genic Male Sterility Found in Beta maritima L.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Breeding, 1972
A genic male sterile mutant was found in the wild beet, Bata maritima L. Its causal gene was designated as ms and is different from the gene a1 which was previously reported in sugar beets. The gene ms has an independent relationship with the genes X and Z which manifest their restoration effect with a plasmagene S for male sterility.

Conjugated Porphyrin Polymer With Superior Charge Transfer for Photodynamic‐Immunomodulatory Prevention of CIED Infection in Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Under NIR irradiation, PTCPP generates ROS to eliminate MRSA biofilms and promote M1 macrophage polarization for phagocytosis. After bacterial clearance, the material is phagocytosed by macrophages, shifting their polarization to M2 phenotype via metabolic reprogramming, which synergistically enhances anti‐infection therapy and wound healing.

Mechanically Spatio‐Chimeric Fibrin Assembly Enables Vascular‐Integrated Muscle Reconstruction for Volumetric Muscle Loss Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
SPARC (spatio‐chimeric, plasma‐based, anisotropic, and shear‐responsive construct) that integrates myogenic and vascular microenvironments within a single construct. The dual‐modulus matrix directs aligned myotube formation and endothelial network development, enabling a vascularized muscle implant that seamlessly anastomoses with host tissue and ...

Comparative Transcriptomes Profiling of Photoperiod-sensitive Male Sterile Rice Nongken 58S During the Male Sterility Transition between Short-day and Long-day

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2011
Background Photoperiod-sensitive genic male sterile (PGMS) rice, Nongken 58S, was discovered in 1973. It has been widely used for the production of hybrid rice, and great achievements have been made in improving rice yields. However, the mechanism of the

Cytological Observation of Two Environmental Genic Male-Sterile Lines of Rice

open access: yesMolecules and Cells, 2001
We report here two environmental genic male-sterilities (EGMS) in rice. These two EGMS rice lines, thermo-sensitive genic male-sterility (TGMS) and photoperiod-sensitive genic male-sterility (PGMS), are controlled by temperature and photoperiod, respectively, in determining their male-sterility.
