This study investigates the M13 bacteriophage as a biomimetic nanovector capable of crossing in vitro models of the blood–brain barrier. By exploiting peculiar transcellular pathways, M13 avoids lysosomal degradation and preserves its structural integrity and functionality.

A 3D‐printed piezoionic GPMx hydrogel enables stable electromechanical signal generation under mechanical loading, exhibiting long‐term durability and low fatigue. As a bioactive patch, it restores endogenous bioelectricity to stimulate osteogenesis via Ca2+ influx and mitochondrial activation, while simultaneously enabling label‐free alkaline ...

Genome-Wide Analysis of Planarian piRNAs
2023In planarian flatworms, the piRNA pathway is operated by three PIWI proteins, termed SMEDWI-1, SMEDWI-2, and SMEDWI-3 (SMEDWI = Schmidtea mediterranea PIWI). The interplay between these three PIWI proteins and their associated small noncoding RNAs, termed piRNAs, fuels the outstanding regenerative abilities of planarians, enables tissue homeostasis ...

Genome-Wide Methylation Analysis
2012The disruption and alteration of genomic methylation patterns is a hallmark of cancer and other disease states. Understanding and characterizing genome-wide methylation will have a profound effect on our understanding of tumorigenesis and provide novel avenues for therapy.

GENOME-WIDE ANALYSIS OF BACTERIAL PROMOTER REGIONS [PDF]
Identifying prokaryotic promoter sequences is notoriously difficult and for most sequenced bacterial genomes the promoter sequences are still unknown. Since experimental analysis trails behind sequencing, genome-wide computational promoter discovery is often the only realistic way to discover these sequences in newly sequenced bacterial genomes ...

Genome-wide Analysis of Myelodysplastic Syndromes
Current Pharmaceutical Design, 2012Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are heterogeneous hematopoietic neoplasms characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis and a risk for progression to acute myeloid leukemia. A number of cytogenetic changes have been described that are characteristic to MDS and of clinical relevance; the specific gene targets of these alterations were largely unknown.

Genome-wide pathway analysis of a genome-wide association study on Alzheimer’s disease
Neurological Sciences, 2014The aims of this study were to identify candidate single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and to generate SNP to gene to pathway hypotheses. An AD genome-wide association study (GWAS) dataset that included 370,542 SNPs in 1,000 cases and 1,000 controls of European descent was used in this study.
