Genomic selection in tree breeding
The literature review concerning genomic selection in forest tree breeding is given. Genomic selection is based on relationships between phenotypic traits and genetic markers (single nucleotide polymorphism, SNP).

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Accuracy and bias of genomic prediction with different de-regression methods
Genomic selection has become increasingly important in the breeding of animals and plants. The response variable is an important factor, influencing the accuracy of genomic selection.

Uncovering G Protein‐Coupled Receptors: Novel Targets and Biomarkers for Predicting Glioma Prognosis
ABSTRACT Background Low‐grade gliomas (LGG) exhibit significant heterogeneity and recurrence risk. G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCR) contribute to glioma malignant progression, but their prognostic value remains unclear. This work attempts to formulate a GPCR‐based outcome‐predicting model for LGG. Methods Based on TCGA LGG data, the enrichment scores

Systematic genotyping of groups of cows to improve genomic estimated breeding values of selection candidates [PDF]
Extending the reference set for genomic predictions in dairy cattle by adding large numbers of cows with genotypes and phenotypes has been proposed as a means to increase reliability of selection decisions for candidates. In this study, we explored the potential of increasing the reliability of breeding values of young selection candidates by genotyping

Genomic breeding value prediction:methods and procedures
Animal breeding faces one of the most significant changes of the past decades – the implementation of genomic selection. Genomic selection uses dense marker maps to predict the breeding value of animals with reported accuracies that are up to 0.31 higher

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Spontaneous Multipolar Mitosis Through CIN‐seq
Multipolar mitosis, a hallmark of chromosomal instability (CIN), drives tumor heterogeneity but is challenging to study in live cells. Using CIN‐seq, a single‐cell multiomics method, we profiled rare CIN events and identified mechanisms associated with viable multipolar mitosis, including PTEN attenuation, Rho GTPase‐driven cytokinesis failure, and ...

Genomic predictions under different genetic architectures are impacted by mating designs
Mating in animal communities must be managed in a way that assures the performance increase in the progenies without increasing the rate of inbreeding. It has currently become possible to identify millions of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), and ...

Genomic selection in dairy cattle
The objectives of this Ph.D. thesis were (1) to optimise genomic selection in dairy cattle with respect to the accuracy of predicting total genetic merit and (2) to optimise a dairy cattle breeding program using genomic selection. The study was performed
