Dormancy in wheat grain (Triticum aestivum L.) : studies on grain-coat pigment formation and abscisic acid content during the development of wheat grain of six genotypes : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Botany at Massey University [PDF]
Dormancy in wheat grain has been associated with red pigmentation of the grain-coats. The development from anthesis to harvest-ripeness of two-white-grained and four red-grained genotypes of varying dormancy was investigated. Grain growth was measured as

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Genetic diverstiy of Sugarcane yellow leaf virus in a sugarcane selection plot in Guadeloupe (FWI) [PDF]
THE GENETIC diversity of Sugarcane yellow leaf virus (SCYLV) was investigated in a sugarcane selection plot in Guadeloupe to determine the incidence of the different known virus genotypes (BRA-PER, CUB and REU) in a breeding progeny.

Friendship and Natural Selection
More than any other species, humans form social ties to individuals who are neither kin nor mates, and these ties tend to be with similar people. Here, we show that this similarity extends to genotypes.

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Occult Hepatitis B Virus Infection in Chacma Baboons, South Africa
During previous studies of susceptibility to hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, HBV DNA was detected in 2/6 wild-caught baboons. In the present study, HBV DNA was amplified from 15/69 wild-caught baboons. All animals were negative for HBV surface antigen

This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
