Microglial Deubiquitinase OTUD7B Stabilizes STAT3 to Promote Neuroinflammation and Cognitive Decline in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
. ABSTRACT Neuroinflammation driven by microglial activation is a defining feature of Alzheimer's disease (AD), yet the molecular mechanisms sustaining this proinflammatory state remain unclear. Here, we identify the deubiquitinase OTUD7B as a critical regulator of microglial activation and AD pathology.

Astrocytic Phenotypic Switching in Posterior Piriform Cortex Orchestrates Bone Cancer Pain–Depression Comorbidity via Purinergic–Noradrenergic Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bone cancer pain and depression share a common origin: astrocytic A2‐to‐A1 transition in the posterior piriform cortex. This phenotypic shift disrupts the ATP–adenosine–A2AR–norepinephrine axis, simultaneously driving nociceptive and affective dysfunction.

Astrocytic LMP2 Coordinates NF‐κB and TGF‐β1/Smad3 Signaling to Drive Neuroinflammation after Cerebral Ischemia/Reperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Astrocyte reactivity critically shapes neuroinflammatory outcomes after ischemic stroke, yet the upstream regulators governing astrocyte state transitions remain incompletely defined. Here, we identify the immunoproteasome subunit low molecular weight protein 2 (LMP2) as an important modulator of astrocyte functional remodeling following ...

Cutaneous nodular fasciitis in the dog. Morphological and immunohistochemical study

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Veterinary Pathology, 2009
Nodular fasciitis is a benign soft tissue lesion commonly diagnosed in human beings, but with rare description in dogs and cats. A female, spayed, 7.5 years old, otherwise healthy Labrador was examined because of a nodular growth of rapid development in ...

GFAP expression in injured astrocytes in rats

open access: yesExperimental and Therapeutic Medicine, 2017
Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is one of the best markers for the activation of astrocytes (AS) following injury or stress in the central nervous system (CNS). The purpose of this study was to examine the expression of GFAP and 14-3-3ε in rat AS subjected to hypoxia. We established primary cultures of AS from cerebral cortex of neonatal Sprague-

Lilrb4a Suppression Reprograms Microglia to Mitigate APOE4‐Associated Amyloid Plaques and Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy in Association With a PPAR‐Linked Pro‐Clearance State

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Targeting Lilrb4a in Apolipoprotein E4 (APOE4)‐associated Alzheimer's disease (AD) reprograms microglia toward a beneficial, phagocytic state. Genetic deletion or antisense inhibition of Lilrb4a suppresses p‐SHP2/NF‐κB/STAT1 signaling, restores PPAR‐linked lipid and energy metabolism, and reduces amyloid plaque burden and cerebral amyloid angiopathy ...

Prognostic biomarkers of recovery from traumatic brain injury: assessment of effectiveness and prospects of application

open access: yesЯкутский медицинский журнал
A literature review was conducted on biomarkers, such as proteins, metabolites and other biological molecules found in biological fluids, as a tool that can improve the understanding of pathophysiological processes in traumatic brain injury (TBI) and ...

Friend, Not Foe: Lowered Tissue Reactivity to Long‐Term Polyimide Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The choice of optimal neural probe designs remains a major challenge in the field of neurotechnology. This study investigated the biocompatibility of several probe variations, including material, thickness, width, and implantation strategy. It highlights the clear advantage of soft polyimide probes over stiff silicon probes for better device ...
