Abnormal KCC2 expression and function in a mouse model of epilepsy and tuberous sclerosis complex

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Drug‐resistant epilepsy is a common, severe manifestation of the genetic disorder tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Although significant mechanistic and therapeutic advances have been made in TSC, treatments for seizures remain largely ineffective.

Temperature homeostasis disruption and hypothalamic alterations in experimental drug‐resistant epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Elevated body temperature may increase seizure risk, yet the relationship between thermoregulation and seizures, as well as the underlying mechanisms, remains poorly understood. We investigated whether thermoregulatory control is altered in experimental temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), as such impairment could reduce the ability of ...

The genetic architecture of epilepsy across molecular mechanisms and clinical heterogeneity

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Epilepsy comprises a highly heterogeneous group of neurological disorders unified by a persistent predisposition to recurrent seizures, yet driven by remarkably diverse genetic, molecular, and network‐level mechanisms. Advances in genomic technologies have revealed that epilepsy arises from a multilayered genetic architecture encompassing rare

A case report: Diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic hypertrophic pachymeningitis

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 112-116, Spring 2025.
We reported a case of idiopathic hypertrophic dura meningitis diagnosed in our hospital. The patient repeatedly suffered from headaches, followed by blurred vision in the right eye. During this period, multiple sclerosis was considered for diagnosis, and it improved after hormone treatment.
