Commercially Exploited Seaweed Species in Africa: Occurrences, Chemical Composition, Current Value Chain and Opportunities for Value Addition

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 4, September 2026.
Commercially exploited seaweed species in Africa, their biochemical composition, current uses, and value chain are reviewed. Potential value‐addition of seaweed is suggested regionally in Africa amongst countries producing similar seaweed species. ABSTRACT Africa has a wide range of coastal environments that support a diverse array of seaweed species ...

An Update on Advancement in Genomics Resources for Spiny Lobster Aquaculture Development

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 4, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The rapid advancement of high‐throughput sequencing technologies has transformed aquaculture genomics, enabling unprecedented insights into the biology and improvement of non‐model aquatic species. Among crustaceans, lobsters represent one of the most commercially valuable yet genomically underexplored taxa. This review synthesises the current

G‐Quadruplexes: Structural Diversity and Emerging Roles in Biomolecular Condensation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
G‐quadruplexes (G4s) fold into diverse intra‐ and intermolecular structures, positioning them as emerging regulators of biomolecular condensation. Mechanistically, G4s autonomously form condensates, act as structural platforms to initiate and stimulate condensation, or induce phase transitions.

Breeding and Seed Production of Aquaculture Species in Bangladesh: Current Status, Challenges and Prospects

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aquaculture has become one of the fastest‐growing food production sectors in Bangladesh and contributes significantly to food security, nutrition, livelihoods and the national economy. In Bangladesh, aquaculture mainly relies on the culture of major carps, catfishes and shrimp, which are also widely farmed across Asia and other parts of the ...

The Mechanobiology of Adipocyte Hypertrophy: Cytoskeletal Remodelling as a Driver of Insulin Resistance in Obesity

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Adipocyte hypertrophy poses an important mechanical challenge—adipocytes can increase in volume up to a thousand‐fold while still maintaining their structural integrity. Although lipid metabolism is well studied, little is known about the cytoskeletal adaptations that are required to accommodate this expansion and the resulting pathological ...

Temporal Trends in Mortality Due to Ischemic Heart Disease and Cardiac Arrhythmias in the United States From 1999 to 2023

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 8, August 2026.
Mortality involving ischemic heart disease and cardiac arrhythmias declined over two decades before rising sharply during the COVID‐19 pandemic. Significant disparities by sex, race, region, and rurality emphasize the need for equitable cardiovascular prevention and management. ABSTRACT Background Ischemic heart disease (IHD) remains a leading cause of

Analysis of the Clinical Application Value of Immune Function Markers and Cytokines in the Recurrent Aphthous Ulcer

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 12, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background This study aimed to analyze the alterations in cellular and humoral immune functions, alongside cytokine profiles, in patients with recurrent aphthous ulcer (RAU) compared to those with other oral mucosal diseases and healthy controls (HC), and to investigate their clinical significance.

Sustained response to rituximab in an ANCA‐negative necrotizing vasculitis with initial detection of Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii

open access: yesClinical &Translational Immunology, Volume 15, Issue 8, 2026.
Abstract Objectives In this case, we present a patient with rapidly progressive unilateral destructive orbital and midface inflammation. Initial detection of Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii was followed by a consistent course of localised necrotizing small‐vessel vasculitis, which was responsive to B‐cell depletion. Methods A 79‐year‐old woman presented

Resolution of Paraneoplastic Cutaneous Angioendotheliomatosis After CAR T‐Cell Therapy in TP53‐Deleted CLL: A Case Report

open access: yeseJHaem, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Cutaneous manifestations of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) are heterogeneous and may result from leukemic infiltration, secondary malignancies, infectious complications, or reactive inflammatory processes. Reactive angioendotheliomatosis (RAE) is a rare vascular proliferation that has only infrequently been reported in association with ...
