Accurate analysis of ginkgolides and their hydrolyzed metabolites by analytical supercritical fluid chromatography hybrid tandem mass spectrometry

open access: yesJournal of Chromatography A, 2015
Hydrolysis plays an important role in the metabolic transformations of lactones. Analysis of lactones and their hydrolyzed metabolites in biological samples is challenging, because unexpected hydrolysis or reversed dehydration may occur depending on the ...

Ginkgolide B functions as a determinant constituent of Ginkgolides in alleviating lipopolysaccharide-induced lung injury

open access: yesBiomedicine and Pharmacotherapy, 2016
Ginkgolides are the major bioactive components of Ginkgo biloba extracts, however, the exact constituents of Ginkgolides contributing to their pharmacological effects remain unknown. Herein, we have determined the anti-inflammatory effects of Ginkgolide B (GB) and Ginkgolides mixture (GM) at equivalent dosages against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ...

Preparation of a tritiated ginkgolide

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2004
Ginkgolide B, a constituent of the tree Ginkgo biloba, was radiolabeled with the beta-emitter tritium ([(3)H]) in two steps from ginkgolide C. First, a triflate precursor was prepared utilizing the selective reactivity of 7-OH in ginkgolide C; the triflate was then reduced with sodium borotritide to yield tritiated ginkgolide B ([(3)H]GB) in good yield

Total Synthesis of (±)-Ginkgolide C and Formal Syntheses of (±)-Ginkgolide A and (±)-Ginkgolide B

2022
Ginkgolides are naturally occurring compounds that can be extracted from the Ginkgo Biloba tree. Their synthesis remains a significant challenge for organic chemists given their complex structure and their numerous stereocenters (2 adjacent quaternary carbons and up to 12 stereocenters).

Chemistry of the Ginkgolides, V. On the Preparation of the Ginkgolide Skeleton

Liebigs Annalen der Chemie, 1993
Abstract3,14‐Didehydro‐10‐hydroxyginkgolideOn the nomenclature: The skeleton of the ginkgolides A, B, C, M and J with the natural configuration is called “ginkgolide” since the systematic IUPAC nomenclature is too complicated. According to our nomenclature ginkgolide “A” is 3,10‐dihydroxyginkgolide, ginkgolide “B” is 1,3,10‐trihydroxyginkgolide etc ...

Chemie der Ginkgolide, IV. Herstellung von Ginkgolid B aus Ginkgolid C

Liebigs Annalen der Chemie, 1991
Chemistry of Ginkgolides, IV1). – Synthesis of Ginkgolide B from Ginkgolide CThe reaction of ginkgolide C (3) with tert‐butylchlorodiphenylsilane results exclusively in the formation of the 1‐O‐tert‐butyldiphenylsilyl ether 5, which when treated with O‐phenylchlorothioformate leads to the 7‐phenyloxythiocarbonyl derivative 6.

Ginkgolide

Chemie in unserer Zeit, 2015

Regioselective thionocarbonation of ginkgolides: facile preparation of ginkgolide J

Tetrahedron Letters, 2005
Ginkgolide J, a minor constituent of terpene trilactone mixture of Ginkgo biloba leaves extract, can be readily prepared from an abundant ginkgolide C in two steps: thionocarbonation and subsequent deoxygenation. Regioselectivity of the first thionocarbonation step can be controlled by a proper choice of the base and solvent combination.
