A Shear Thickening Colloidal Suspension Functioning via Progressive Impact Jamming with Persistent Lubrication Layer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ionic liquid‐based shear‐thickening fluid (ILSTF) exhibits lubricated dynamics from strong shear thickening to impact‐triggered jamming. A persistent nanometric solvation layer around silica governs both the shear thickening saturation in rheology and jamming front propagation under dynamic impact compression.

FENOMENA GLASS CEILING PADA WANITA BEKERJA DAN FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERPERAN [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007

Crossing the Stained-Glass Ceiling of Theology

open access: yesJoMaCC, 2023
In 1970, Pope Paul VI proclaimed two women doctors of the Church, Teresa of Avila and Catherine of Siena. He therefore broke with a millenary tradition that excluded women from a title that recognized a form of magisterium in the universal Church ...

Evaporation‐Driven Solutal Marangoni Control of Rayleigh–Taylor Instability in Inverted Films

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inverted liquid films, like paint on a ceiling, are inherently unstable under gravity. This work shows that selective evaporation in volatile binary mixtures generates solutal Marangoni stresses that either suppress or amplify the Rayleigh Taylor instability.

Does the Glass Ceiling Exist? A Cross-National Perspective on [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We compare male and female upward labor income mobility in Germany and the United States using the GSOEP-PSID Cross National Equivalent File. Our main interest is to test whether a glass ceiling exists for women.

Record‐High Latent Heat, Ultra‐Fast Relaxation and Closed‐Loop Recycling Double‐Brush Polymer Networks for Self‐Adaptive Thermal Interface Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By grafting dense long double‐brush chains, we synthesized bottlebrush networks with high theoretical enthalpy. Their low entanglement, combined with dynamic bonds, promotes crystalline domain reorganization and minimizes enthalpy loss, achieving a record enthalpy of 240.7 J·g−1.

Beyond Silicon: Toward Sustainable, NIR‐II, and Conformable Organic Photodiodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
In this perspective, a strategic shift in organic photodetector (OPD) research is proposed: instead of the incremental advances in silicon's stronghold arena, the most impactful future for OPDs lies in addressing silicon's intrinsic limitations, i.e., detection in the longer wavelength range above silicon's coverage (>1100 nm, termed as near infrared ...
