Organelle‐Resolved Tetrazine‐trans‐Cyclooctene Click Chemistry for Cargo Delivery and Release

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal click chemistry tools provide a means for specific intracellular conjugation of molecules. In this study, we used reactive tetrazine (Tz) and TCO moieties for labeling of organelles and organelle‐specific delivery and activation of doxorubicin prodrugs.

Recent Perspectives on Phytochemical Profile, Pharmacological Activities, and Industrial Applications of Guava (Psidium guajava)

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Psidium guajava leaves contain potent bioactive compounds like quercetin, myricetin, and triterpenoids that show antioxidant, antidiabetic, anti‐inflammatory, and anticancer effects. They act by modulating NF‐κB, PPARγ, and α‐glucosidase and by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.

Gβγ subunit activation of KV7 and BKCa channels underlies calcitonin gene‐related peptide vasorelaxation in myogenic rat coronary resistance arteries

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose CGRP is a potent, clinically relevant coronary vasodilator known to play a role in cardioprotection. Here, we investigated the precise intracellular signalling pathways leading to vasodilation in small coronary arteries.

Glibenclamide improves kidney and heart structure and function in the adenine-diet model of chronic kidney disease

open access: yes, 2014
The development of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and associated cardiovascular disease involves free radical damage and inflammation. Addition of adenine to the diet induces inflammation followed by CKD and cardiovascular disease.

Pharmacokinetic of Diclofenac in the Presence and Absence of Glibenclamide in the Rat

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2009
- PURPOSE. There is evidence that the sulfonylurea antidiabetic agent glibenclamide reduces the analgesic action of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), opioids and neuromodulators in animal models. Therefore, in view of the vast clinical uses

The Effects of Combined Antihypertensive and Antidiabetic Therapies on Cardiovascular Outcomes: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims Hypertension and diabetes frequently coexist, yet the net clinical impact of intentionally combining antihypertensive (AHTN) and antidiabetic (ADA) therapies on cardiovascular (CV) outcomes is uncertain. Here we quantified the effects of AHTN and ADA co‐therapy on CV and blood pressure (BP)/heart rate (HR) outcomes.

How the First 9 Months Shape the Rest of Your Life: The Impact of Gestational Diabetes on the Metabolic Future

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) represents far more than a transient glycaemic disorder: it is a sentinel metabolic event that unveils pre‐existing defects in β‐cell function and insulin action, with profound implications for both maternal and offspring cardiometabolic health across the lifespan.
