This article deals with mathematical programs with vanishing constraints (MPVCs) involving lower semi-continuous functions. We introduce generalized Abadie constraint qualification (ACQ) and MPVC-ACQ in terms of directional convexificators and derive ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

First order optimality condition for constrained set-valued optimization [PDF]
A constrained optimization problem with set-valued data is considered. Different kind of solutions are defined for such a problem. We recall weak minimizer, efficient minimizer and proper minimizer.

Cluster simplification in Olusuba: An optimality theory account
This paper centres on phonological process involved in the simplification of clusters of consonants in Olusuba. This simplification has been established in the phonological behaviours of these clusters as attested in their differences in the underlying ...

Global Optimality Conditions and Optimization Methods for Quadratic Knapsack Problems
The quadratic knapsack problem (QKP) maximizes a quadratic objective function subject to a binary and linear capacity constraint. Due to its simple structure and challenging difficulty, it has been studied intensively during the last two decades.

First order optimality conditions in set-valued optimization [PDF]
A a set-valued optimization problem minC F(x), x 2 X0, is considered, where X0 X, X and Y are Banach spaces, F : X0 Y is a set-valued function and C Y is a closed cone.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Global Modeling and Target Optimality
This article's point of departure is the observation that global modelers characteristically do not justify their policy recommendations in terms of social optimality criteria.

Optimality conditions and algorithms for integral global minimization
With the integral approach of global optimization, new optimality conditions for global minimization are proposed and studied. Using m-mean value condition one can design algorithms for finding global minimizers.
