Proportional Marginal Effects for Global Sensitivity Analysis

open access: yesSIAM/ASA Journal on Uncertainty Quantification
Performing (variance-based) global sensitivity analysis (GSA) with dependent inputs has recently benefited from cooperative game theory concepts.By using this theory, despite the potential correlation between the inputs, meaningful sensitivity indices can be defined via allocation shares of the model output's variance to each input.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Estimating sensitivity indices based on Gaussian process metamodels with compactly supported correlation functions

open access: yes
Specific formulae are derived for quadrature-based estimators of global sensitivity indices when the unknown function can be modeled by a regression plus stationary Gaussian process using the Gaussian, Bohman, or cubic correlation functions.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Theory to practice: global sensitivity analysis of the Aimsun meso model

open access: yes, 2014
This paper examines a metamodel-based technique for model sensitivity analysis and applies it to the Aimsun mesoscopic model. The paper argues that sensitivity analysis is crucial for the best use of the traffic simulation models while also acknowledging

Uncertainty and sensitivity in global carbon cycle modelling. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
This paper summarises the results obtained from a stochastic sensitivity study in the area of global carbon cycle modelling. In particular, it outlines how Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) techniques and associated Generalised Sensitivity Analysis (GSA) have

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Sensitivity of Pareto Solutions in Multiobjective Optimization. [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper presents a sensitivity analysis of Pareto solutions on the basis of the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) necessary conditions applied to nonlinear multiobjective programs (MOP) continuously depending on a parameter.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
