Global Sensitivity Analysis of Structural Reliability Using Cliff Delta

open access: yesMathematics
This paper introduces innovative sensitivity indices based on Cliff’s Delta for the global sensitivity analysis of structural reliability. These indices build on the Sobol’ method, using binary outcomes (success or failure), but avoid the need to ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Stability Evaluation of Slope Based on Global Sensitivity Analysis

open access: yesComplexity
The uncertainty of parameters will have a significant impact on slope stability, where sensitivity analysis is a commonly used method in uncertainty research. However, traditional sensitivity analysis method costs much computation time.

Global perspectives on nitrate aerosol dynamics: a comprehensive sensitivity analysis [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics
In recent years, nitrate aerosols have become a dominant component of atmospheric composition, surpassing sulfate in both concentration and climatic impact. However, accurately simulating nitrate remains a major challenge for global models due to complex

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Fréchet-Derivative-Based Global Sensitivity Analysis and Its Physical Meanings in Structural Design

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Sensitivity analysis is essential for uncertainty-based structural design and analysis, especially global sensitivity analysis, which can reflect the overall physical properties of large and complex computational models with stochastic parameters.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Multi-Stage Sensitivity Analysis of the Energy Demand for the Cooling of Grain Warehouses in Cold Regions of China

open access: yesAgriculture
The early design parameters exert a considerable influence on the cooling energy demand of a granary building in operation. In order to investigate the impact of various parameters on energy use, a grain warehouse energy model was constructed using the ...
