Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Global Warming – Our Greatest Challenge

open access: yesResearch and Review Journal of Nondestructive Testing
The current state of Earth’s climate is the result of a long-lasting, continuous development: it is a snapshot from a film of the Earth’s history that has lasted around 4.5 billion years and is still running. Climate fluctuations are documented by

GLOBAL WARMING BETWEEN SCIENCE AND POLITICS

open access: yesВісник Київського національного університету імені Тараса Шевченка. Серія Економіка, 2015
During the last three decades, the scientific theory of global warming has become a political ideology. Significant political components are found both in the premises and (especially) in the consequences.

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Global Warming Has Accelerated Significantly

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Recent record‐hot years have caused discussion over whether global warming has accelerated. Previous analysis found acceleration (i.e., increase in warming rate) has not yet reached a 95% confidence level, given natural temperature variability. We remove

Climate extremes in Europe at 1.5 and 2 degrees of global warming

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2017
There is an international effort to attempt to limit global warming to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels, however, there is a lack of quantitative analysis on the benefits of holding global warming to such a level.

Economic vitality in a transition to sustainability [PDF]

open access: yes
The good news is that many of the solutions to this extraordinary problem are within reach. Many of the solutions to global warming are not only feasible, they are economically and socially beneficial. While some claim that addressing global warming will

Statistical evidence about human influence on the climate system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Working Paper No WP2012-012We use recent methods for the analysis of time series data, in particular related to breaks in trends, to establish that human factors are the main contributors to the secular movements in observed global and hemispheric ...

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.
