Molecular analysis of Gigaspora (Glomales, Gigasporaceae) [PDF]

open access: yesNew Phytologist, 1998
This work presents a cooperative effort to integrate new molecular (isozyme and SSU analyses) characters into the morphological taxonomy of the genus Gigaspora (Glomales). Previous analyses of published Gigaspora SSU sequences indicated the presence of a few polymorphic nucleotides in the region delimited by primers NS71‐SSU 1492′.

MICORRIZAS

Growth responses of maritime sand dune plant species to arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi

open access: yesActa Mycologica, 2014
In a pot experiment conducted in a greenhouse, the response of 6 plant species dominating in the succession of vegetation of a deflation hollow of the Łeba Bar to inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) was investigated.

Acaulospora mellea and A. trappei, fungi new for Poland

open access: yesActa Mycologica, 2014
Spores of Acaulospora mellea and A. trappei are described and illustrated. Acaulospora mellea occurs relatively infrequently in Poland. It was found in 30 of the more than 1300 soil samples examined representing different uncultivated and cultivated ...

Effects of earthworms and mycorrhizal fungi on the growth of the medicinal herb Calendula officinalis (Asteraceae)

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2011
Both earthworms and symbiotic arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) often co-occurr in ecosystems, however very little is known on their interrelationships.

Molecular Characterization of GmFOX2, an Evolutionarily Highly Conserved Gene from the Mycorrhizal Fungus Glomus mosseae, Down-Regulated During Interaction with Rhizobacteria

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 1999
Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi form the most widespread symbiosis of the plant kingdom. More than 80% of vascular plants are susceptible to colonization by the zygomycetous fungi from the order Glomales, and profit significantly by the nutrient ...

A combined morphological and molecular approach to characterize isolates of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi inGigaspora(Glomales) [PDF]

open access: yesNew Phytologist, 2001
•  Morphological features of resting spores and information from nucleotide sequences of ribosomal RNA were used to characterize seven mycorrhizal fungal isolates in Gigaspora from different geographical areas. •  Detailed observations were made under the light microscope on single spores mounted in Melzer's reagent and polyvinyl alcohol-lactic acid ...
