Kinetic Determination of Glucose Concentrations with Glucose Dehydrogenase [PDF]
A manual version and mechanized versions for several types of analyzers are described for the kinetic determination of glucose with glucose dehydrogenase. Results of glucose determinations with and without deproteinization of samples are discussed. The correlation of results with the hexokinase method is shown.

GlucoSynth: Generating Differentially-Private Synthetic Glucose Traces [PDF]
We focus on the problem of generating high-quality, private synthetic glucose traces, a task generalizable to many other time series sources. Existing methods for time series data synthesis, such as those using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), are not able to capture the innate characteristics of glucose data and cannot provide any formal ...

Enzyme chemical engineering and its application to biosensors : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Chemistry at Massey University, Turitea, New Zealand [PDF]
Enzyme chemical engineering is a fast growing area in biotechnology. It has been used to change the stability, solubility, activity and other properties of enzymes for more control over and wider application of enzymes. In this thesis, this technology is

Glucoregulatory and order effects on verbal episodic memory in healthy adolescents after oral glucose administration [PDF]
The ingestion of oral glucose has been observed to facilitate memory performance in both elderly individuals and in young adults. However, fewer studies have investigated the effect of glucose on memory in children or adolescents.

Modeling Physical Activity Impact on Glucose Dynamics in People with Type 1 Diabetes for a Fully Automated Artificial Pancreas [PDF]
In this paper, models of the blood glucose (BG) dynamics in people with Type 1 diabetes (T1D) in response to moderate intensity aerobic activity are derived from physiology-based first principles and system identification experiments. We show that by enhancing insulin-dependent glucose utilization by the tissues in two phases, a rapid short-term ...

Sounding the metabolic orchestra: A delay dynamical systems perspective on the glucose-insulin regulatory response to on-off glucose infusion [PDF]
We investigate the consequences of periodic, on-off glucose infusion on the glucose-insulin regulatory system on the basis of a system-level mathematical model with two explicit time delays. Studying the effects of such infusion protocols is mathematically challenging yet a promising direction for probing the system response to infusion. We pay special

The glucose sensor in HIT cells is the glucose transporter [PDF]
The nature of the rate‐limiting step for glucose utilization by the clonal insulin‐producing cell line HIT‐T15 has been investigated. In contrast to the situation in islets of Langerhans, we find that the HIT cell glucose metabolism is limited by the rate of entry of glucose into the cell. This is evidenced by the low rate of sugar transport and by the

Autoimmune thyroid disease and ovarian hypofunction: a review of literature
Thyroid hormones(THs) are essential for the proper functioning of the ovaries, and multiple studies have shown that thyroid abnormalities, especially during adolescence and reproductive age, can lead to lifelong ovarian dysfunction.

Scalable, Non-Invasive Glucose Sensor Based on Boronic Acid Functionalized Carbon Nanotube Transistors [PDF]
We developed a scalable, label-free all-electronic sensor for D-glucose based on a carbon nanotube transistor functionalized with pyrene-1-boronic acid. This sensor responds to glucose in the range 1 uM - 100 mM, which includes typical glucose concentrations in human blood and saliva.
