Myeloid PD‐1 Regulates Astrocyte Development and Leads to Active Behaviours
During early neurodevelopment, PD‐1 ablation in myeloid cells influences myeloid proliferation/differentiation and causes sustained astrocyte overproliferation. PD‐1f/f; LysM‐Cre mice showed elevated astrocyte gene expression and behavioural changes.

Hcfc1 and Ogt Mediate Zebrafish CNS Regeneration Through Hippo/Yap Signalling
This work identifies Hcfc1 and Ogt as key regulators of zebrafish CNS regeneration through modulation of Hippo/Yap signalling. Loss of Hcfc1 or Ogt activity inhibition impairs regeneration, which is restored by Yap overexpression, revealing a new regulatory axis that enhances CNS regenerative capacity.

Phylogenetic analyses of glutamine synthetase (GS) in seed plants revealed that all three major evolutionary lineages (GS2, GS1a, and GS1b) must have been present in the common ancestor, with GS2 being the first lineage to diverge. Unlike GS1b, GS1a and GS2 are usually single‐copy genes, even though they underwent duplications that resulted in ...

Moderate overexpression of wild‐type Met in hepatocytes (Alb‐R26Met mouse model) boosts a strong antioxidant response dependent on the glutathione system while impairing TGF‐β signaling in the liver. This leads to improved liver regeneration and protects against DDC‐induced injury, a model for cholestatic disease sharing features with primary ...

Glutamine metabolism, a double agent combating or fuelling hepatocellular carcinomaKey points
Summary: The reprogramming of glutamine metabolism is a key event in cancer more generally and in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in particular. Glutamine consumption supplies tumours with ATP and metabolites through anaplerosis of the tricarboxylic acid ...

EST analysis of gene expression in early cleavage-stage sea urchin embryos [PDF]
A set of 956 expressed sequence tags derived from 7-hour (mid-cleavage) sea urchin embryos was analyzed to assess biosynthetic functions and to illuminate the structure of the message population at this stage.

The crystal structures of Arabidopsis thaliana γ‐glutamyl peptidase 1 (GGP1), including the covalent intermediate state, were determined. GGP1 is involved in both glutathione degradation in the primary metabolism and glutathione conjugate processing in the secondary metabolism of glucosinolate and camalexin biosynthesis.
