Amino Acid Stress Response Genes Contribute to a 25‐Fold Increased Risk of L‐Asparaginase–Induced Hypersensitivity

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 72, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background L‐asparaginase is essential in treating pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) but is limited by hypersensitivity reactions in up to 70% of patients, leading to severe, dose‐limiting complications and compromised event‐free survival. Procedure This study conducted a genome‐wide association study (GWAS) in a discovery cohort of

Genome‐wide association study and BSR‐seq identify nitrate reductase–related genes in rice landraces (Oryza sativa L.)

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2025.
Abstract Nitrogen (N) is an essential nutrient for rice (Oryza sativa L.) growth and development. However, the lower nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) results in an N fertilizer surplus, which causes many environmental problems. In this study, genome‐wide association studies were used to detect nitrate reductase (NR)‐related loci in 419 rice landraces ...

Nitrosarchaeum haohaiensis sp. Nov. CL1T: Isolation and Characterisation of a Novel Ammonia‐Oxidising Archaeon From Aquatic Environments

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 17, Issue 3, June 2025.
Following a 3.5‐year enrichment cultivation period, a rapid‐growing ammonia‐oxidising archaeon, designated CL1T, was isolated from the East China Sea. Strain CL1T represents a new species within the Nitrosarchaeum genus and is capable of effectively oxidising ammonia at both low and high concentrations through the GS‐GOGAT and GDH pathways. Furthermore,

VCP Promotes Cholangiocarcinoma Development by Mediating BAP1 Ubiquitination‐Dependent Degradation

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 116, Issue 6, Page 1579-1591, June 2025.
It demonstrates the tumor‐suppressive roles of BAP1 in CCA: BAP1 significantly inhibits CCA cell proliferation and tumor progression. It identifies VCP as a key upstream regulator mediating BAP1 homeostasis: VCP binds to BAP1 and promotes the latter's ubiquitination degradation via the ubiquitin‐proteasome pathway.
