Comparison of glycated albumin and glycated Hemoglobin in type 2 diabetic patients with end-stage of renal disease [PDF]
Background: Various analytes are used to assess glycemic control in laboratory medicine. Glucose measurements show current glucose levels, but sample stability can be influenced by diet and stress.

Relationship of hyperglycaemia, hypoglycaemia, and glucose variability to atherosclerotic disease in type 2 diabetes [PDF]
Objective: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is known to be associated with increased cardiovascular risk. The aim of this study was therefore to investigate the independent effects of hyperglycaemia, hypoglycaemia, and glucose variability on microvascular ...

Flow chart of the study population. ABSTRACT Objectives To investigate the associations of the healthy eating index (HEI) and subclinical myocardial injury (SCMI) in different smoking statuses (current smokers, former smokers, and never smokers) based on the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) III.

Unlocking beta cell health: The clinical potential of extracellular vesicles in type 1 diabetes
Extracellular vesicles serve as minimally invasive biomarkers of β‑cell stress and immune dysregulation in T1D. This review highlights the potentials of EVs as a biomarker to improve early detection and disease staging in type 1 diabetes. Abstract Background Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a lifelong autoimmune disease characterised by progressive immune ...

Hypoglycaemia Risk Prediction Models for Type 2 Diabetes: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis
This systematic review and meta‐analysis evaluated existing hypoglycaemia risk prediction models for Type 2 diabetes, finding excellent pooled discrimination (AUC = 0.815) but widespread high methodological bias, highlighting the need for rigorous model optimisation and external validation.

Biochemical role of serum fructosamine in patients with thyroid disorders
Background: Fructosamine (FA) is the product of a reaction between glucose (sugar) and albumin (protein). It is used to monitor the short-term glycemic changes in patients with diabetes and may have a role in conjugation with glycated hemoglobin. Aims &

This study shows that urinary nephrin and related podocyte injury markers are elevated among people living with diabetes in Ghana, particularly those with macroalbuminuria. Nephrin demonstrated discriminatory ability, supporting its role as an exploratory biomarker for diabetic nephropathy rather than a standalone diagnostic tool.
