Abstract Purpose Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a frequent long‐term complication of diabetes. While hemodynamic changes are known risk factors for DR, the effect of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) on the development of DR is poorly investigated.

Longitudinal progression of retinal nonperfusion in clinically stable diabetic retinopathy
Abstract Purpose To longitudinally assess and quantify changes in retinal nonperfusion (NP) in clinically stable diabetic retinopathy (DR) using ultra‐widefield fluorescein angiography (UWF‐FA) and optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). Methods Fifty‐one eyes from thirty‐three patients were followed for a mean of 15.9 ± 11.4 months.

Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatohepatitis is the second commonest US indication for liver transplantation but remains largely undiagnosed and untreated. Fibrosis stage is the strongest predictor of major adverse liver outcomes, with decompensation rates and transplant‐free survival diverging sharply between F3 and F4, while cardiovascular ...

In this prospective cohort study of 60,556 cancer‐free adults with a median follow‐up of 7.44 years, a higher Life's Essential 8 (LE8) score, reflecting better cardiovascular health, was associated with a lower risk of pancreatic cancer (PC). Each 1‐SD increase in LE8 score was associated with an 18% lower PC risk.

Higher glycaemic burden, measured by the Glycaemic Penalty Index (GPI), was independently associated with increased risk of healthcare‐associated infection in surgical inpatients. GPI provides a single, clinically interpretable summary of both hyperglycaemia and hypoglycaemia. Abstract Aims To evaluate the utility of the Glycemic Penalty Index (GPI), a

Abstract Aims Type 2 diabetes (T2D) disproportionately affects African American adults in the United States, who experience higher complication rates and poorer outcomes. Social support is a key determinant of diabetes self‐care, yet evidence in this population remains fragmented.

Ocular Manifestations of Metabolic Syndrome: A Systemic Vascular Phenotype
ABSTRACT Context Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is defined by central obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension and dyslipidemia. MetS affects over one‐third of US adults. Beyond its cardiovascular burden, MetS has clinically relevant associations with ocular health and may contribute to a systemic vascular and neuro‐metabolic phenotype involving the retina,
