Sustainable polyurethane coatings derived from alkyds of Camelina oil monoglycerides

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 141, Issue 41, November 5, 2024.
This study presents the use of immobilized lipase for a low‐temperature glycerolysis reaction to produce monoglycerides. Monoglycerides were then reacted with dibasic acids to produce alkyd diols. The produced alkyd diols were incorporated into polyurethane formulations and were applied on metal substrates.

Glicerólise de óleo de peixe catalisada por lipase comercial de Rhizomucor miehei em meio com surfactante de grau alimentício Glycerolysis of fish oil catalyzed by a commercial lipase from Rhizomucor miehei in reaction media containing food grade surfactant

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2013
Omega-3 enriched partial acylglycerols are beneficial for human health. The aim of this study was to obtain monoacylglycerols (MAG) and diacylglycerols (DAG) by means of glycerolysis of fish oil catalyzed by a lipase from Rhizomucor miehei in the ...

Chemical transesterification of coconut and corn oils using different metal hydroxides as catalysts to determine the chemical and physiochemical changes to the oils

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 104, Issue 14, Page 8801-8812, November 2024.
Abstract BACKGROUND The transesterification of butteroil has been shown to alter its lipid chemistry and thus alter the crystallization of the fat. The reaction kinetics and resulting crystallization of the butteroil differ depending on the nature of the catalyst used.

Green synthesis of highly active and recyclable chromium oxide nanocatalyst for biodiesel production from novel nonedible oil seeds

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2024.
Herein, we produced biodiesel using nonedible and poisonous Phyllanthus maderaspatensis oil seeds, which have the highest seed oil content (35%), coupled with a lower free fatty acid content (0.87 mg/KOH), making them an ideal candidate for producing biodiesel.

KAJIAN LAMA REAKSI TERHADAP RENDEMEN MASSA DAN AKTIVITAS ANTIMIKROBA PRODUK GLISEROLISIS

open access: yesJurnal Teknologi & Industri Hasil Pertanian, 2012
The study was conducted to determine the effect of glycerolysis reaction time (48, 72, 96, 120 and 144 hours) on yield and antimicrobial activity of glycerolysis products from palm kernel oil (PKO) using rice bran as biocatalyst.  The result showed that

Liquid‐Liquid Phase Equilibrium of Glycerolysis Precursors: Experimental and Modeling Study

open access: yesChemical Engineering &Technology, Volume 47, Issue 1, Page 208-216, January 2024.
Glycerol and oleic acid are mutually immiscible components. Their rigorous reaction produces glycerol esters and water. Such mutual immiscibility of glycerol and free fatty acids limits glycerolysis, a reaction capable of upgrading waste‐derived oils. The glycerol solubility in the fatty phase increases when glycerol esters are added to the immiscible ...

A Review of Stochastic Optimization Algorithms Applied in Food Engineering

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Mathematical models that represent food processing operations are characterized by the nonlinearity of their dynamic behavior with possible discrete events, the existence of several variables of interest that are usually distributed in space, and the presence of nonlinear constraints.

Solvent-free synthesis of diacylglycerols via enzymatic glycerolysis between edible oils and glycerol catalyzed by self-made immobilized lipase PS@LXTE-1000

open access: yesOil Crop Science
Diglycerol (DAG) is a structural lipid with the functions to lower body fat accumulation and decrease serum triglyceride level. However, the enzymatic synthesis of DAG is limited by the high-efficient and economic lipases.

Glycerol carbonate synthesis via Zn(OBu)2/AlCl2(OBu) initiated-glycerolysis of urea

open access: yesChemistry of Inorganic Materials
Glycerol carbonate (4-hydroxymethyl-1,3-dioxolane-2-one) was efficiently synthesized from glycerolysis of urea initiated by Zn(OBu)2/Al(OBu)Cl2. The zinc-aluminum complex mixture was prepared from zinc chloride (ZnCl2) and aluminum tri-sec-butylate (Al ...
