Advancements in Mass Spectrometry‐Based Glycomics in Food and Nutritional Science
ABSTRACT This review highlights advancements in mass spectrometry (MS)‐based glycomics in food and nutritional science. Carbohydrates, which are vital for human health, exhibit complex structures, making their analysis challenging. MS has become an indispensable tool for elucidating the structures of carbohydrates, including glycans, through soft ...

Study of Glycolipid Profiles of Low Grade Astrocytomas
We analyzed the glycolipid composition of eight cases with low grade astrocytomas. In all of the cases the composition of neutral glycolipids was notably different from the normal brain. The composition of acidic glycolipids was almost the same as normal.

ABSTRACT Background and aims Non‐alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) affects about a quarter of the world's population. Liver biopsy remains the gold standard for diagnosing the progressive form of NAFLD called Non‐alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) but it is invasive, prone to sampling errors and observer variability, and impractical for widespread ...

Model of intercellular functional coordination in Anabaena. Summary Diazotrophic cyanobacteria fix both atmospheric carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) into biomass, but the two assimilation pathways are not compatible. Species like Anabaena sp. PCC 7120 physically separate C and N assimilation in different cell types.

Studying Macromolecular Composition in Cell–Cell Interfaces Using 3D Membrane Reconstitution Systems
A comprehensive understanding of the interactions between proteins, lipids and glycocalyx components at the immune synapse is still lacking. Here, an artificial and a semi‐artificial model contact system were established to reconstitute the cell‐cell contact in 3D. The model systems enable the examination of macromolecule enrichment or depletion at the

Nanoshell Fabrication Techniques for Probiotic Encapsulation: A Comprehensive Review
ABSTRACT Probiotics, beneficial microorganisms, confer numerous health benefits when administered. However, their efficacy is hindered by harsh gut conditions, including acidity, bile acids, and enzymatic degradation. To overcome these challenges, encapsulation and nanoshell technology have emerged as a pivotal strategy to enhance probiotic stability ...

Behavioral Adaptogenic Humoral Glycolipid in Mouse Given Various Stresses
Stresses spoil adaptation. Animals prepare behavioral adaptogenic substances for escaping from stressful situation. Mice given forced swimming stress prepared GalNAcα1-3GalNAc-lipid inducing hyperactivity, in the humoral lipoid fraction eluted with 150 ...
