Fucosylation of LAMP-1 and LAMP-2 by FUT1 correlates with lysosomal positioning and autophagic flux of breast cancer cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Alpha1,2-fucosyltransferases, FUT1 and FUT2, which transfer fucoses onto the terminal galactose of N-acetyl-lactosamine via α1,2-linkage have been shown to be highly expressed in various types of cancers.

Tumour‐informed workflow to use ctDNA as a biomarker for risk of recurrence in head and neck cancer patients post‐treatment

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 7, Issue 2, April 2026.
Our study presents a tumour‐informed circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) workflow designed to enhance the detection of recurrence in head and neck cancer patients, addressing key challenges such as low ctDNA tumour fractions and tumour heterogeneity. Abstract Circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) is a promising minimally invasive biomarker for monitoring treatment

High ALG1 Expression Is Correlated With Poor Prognosis and the Immune Microenvironment in Glioma

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 8, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Glioma is the most prevalent primary tumour in the central nervous system. This study investigates ALG1 expression in glioma and its clinical significance. Using the TCGA and CGGA databases, a bioinformatics analysis examines ALG1 expression, its prognostic value, and its link to the immune microenvironment. Clinical samples are analysed using

Frequency conversion between UV and telecom wavelengths in a lithium niobate waveguide for quantum communication with Yb+ trapped ions

open access: yes, 2016
We study and demonstrate the frequency conversion of UV radiation, resonant with 369.5 nm transition in Yb+ ions to the C-band wavelength 1580.3 nm and vice-versa using a reverse proton-exchanged waveguide in periodically poled lithium niobate.
