A new glycopeptide antibiotic

Abstract Teicoplanin is a new glycopeptide antibiotic with a spectrum of activity similar to vancomycin. The anticipated advantages of teicoplanin include longer half-life and less frequent administration, higher activity against some streptococci and enterococci, and good absorption from intramuscular injection.
