Glycomic analysis of high density lipoprotein shows a highly sialylated particle. [PDF]
Many of the functional proteins and lipids in high density lipoprotein (HDL) particles are potentially glycosylated, yet very little is known about the glycoconjugates of HDL.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Herpes simplex virus 1 encodes a Fc receptor consisting of glycoproteins E (gE) and I (gI) and two protein kinases specified by UL13 and US3, respectively. We report the following: (i) Antibody to UL13 formed immune complexes containing gE and gI in addition to UL13 protein.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Nanoparticle Vaccines Based on the Truncated VZV gE Elicit a Robust Immune Response in Mice
Background: Herpes zoster (HZ), caused by the reactivation of varicella-zoster virus (VZV), primarily affects elderly populations worldwide. Although current recombinant HZ vaccines show strong immunogenicity, their high cost and potential side effects ...
