One-way trip: Influenza virus' adaptation to gallinaceous poultry may limit its pandemic potential [PDF]
We hypothesise that some influenza virus adaptations to poultry may explain why the barrier for human-to-human transmission is not easily overcome once the virus has crossed from wild birds to chickens.

CD168 Identifies Proliferating Pancreatic Islet Cells in Murine and Human
This study identifies CD168 as a conserved surface marker for proliferating β‐cells in mouse, human islets, and pancreatic islet tumors. CD168⁺ cells show high proliferation and low insulin expression. CD168+ cells form mostly uni‐β lineage clones, and some of the clones are multi‐lineage.

The apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4 allele is the strongest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer’s disease (AD). ApoE is glycosylated with an O-linked Core-1 sialylated glycan at several sites; however, the impact and function of this glycosylation on

N-glycosylation of the protein disulfide isomerase Pdi1 ensures full Ustilago maydis virulence.
Fungal pathogenesis depends on accurate secretion and location of virulence factors which drive host colonization. Protein glycosylation is a common posttranslational modification of cell wall components and other secreted factors, typically required for

This study designs a novel mRNA‐LNP vaccine targeting VZV glycoprotein E (gE) for herpes zoster via an AI‐assisted pipeline. Validated in mice and rhesus macaques, the mRNA‐LNP vaccine shows strong humoral and cellular immune responses, with CD4+ T‐cell responses more effective and durable than Shingrix, offering a promising prophylactic option ...

Biosynthesis, structure, and biological activities of envelope protein gp65 of murine coronavirus. [PDF]
We have previously shown that gp65 (E3) is a virion structural protein which varies widely in quantity among different strains of mouse hepatitis virus (MHV). In this study, the biosynthetic pathway and possible biological activities of this protein were
