Center of Golgi cisternae at higher magnification [Secretory pathway; 6f]

open access: yes, 2016
Presents details of the Golgi matrix and tethered transport vesicles are revealed. Clathrin coated buds are readily apparent on the trans-most cisternae and post-Golgi compartments.

Mutant huntingtin impairs the post-Golgi trafficking of brain-derived neurotrophic factor but not its Val66Met polymorphism.

open access: yes, 2013
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) polymorphism is associated with the pathophysiology of several neurodegenerative disorders, including Huntington"s disease.

Cell Cycle Control of Nuclear Metabolism Couples Phosphatidylinositol Signaling to Histone Methylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear metabolism oscillates during cell cycle progression. Quantitative chromatome proteomics and imaging reveal phase‐specific dynamics of PIP5K1A and nuclear PIP2, linking phosphatidylinositol metabolism to histone methylation. This work identifies nuclear lipid metabolism as a previously unrecognized regulatory axis coordinating chromatin ...

Dissection of the asynchronous transport of intestinal microvillar hydrolases to the cell surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Novel subcellular fractionation procedures and pulse-chase techniques were used to study the intracellular transport of the microvillar membrane hydrolases sucrase-isomaltase and dipeptidylpeptidase IV in the differentiated colon adenocarcinoma cell line

Malectin Alleviates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus via Glycoprotein Quality Control Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

Continuous-flow synthesis of primary amines: Metal-free reduction of aliphatic and aromatic nitro derivatives with trichlorosilane

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
The metal-free reduction of nitro compounds to amines mediated by trichlorosilane was successfully performed for the first time under continuous-flow conditions.

The Golgin GMAP-210 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The protein GMAP-210 (Golgi Microtubule Associated Protein of 210 kDa) is a long coiled-coil protein, which localises to the Golgi apparatus. It is part of the loosely defined protein group of the golgins, which are involved in establishing the Golgi ...

Marburg Virus Glycoprotein Is a Remarkable Virulent Factor Linked to Hemorrhagic Pathology: Evidence from Multimodal Experimental Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating data from in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models, our research identifies the MARV glycoprotein as a remarkable hemorrhagic factor, filling a major gap in this important field. It also provides practical experimental tools for the basic research on viral pathogenesis and applied research aimed at antiviral intervention for hemorrhagic ...
